Social Inclusion Director

Rachel Burton is BIC’s Social Inclusion Director. Rachel joined BIC in 2012 to start BIC’s disability rights campaign. Her focus areas include disability and LGBTQI+ inclusion as well as inclusivity in health, education, social protection, and post-disaster reconstruction.

Prior to joining BIC, Rachel worked at the local and international levels advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities and on the prevention of violence against women and girls in Africa. Rachel received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, and a master’s degree in public administration from New York University.
