The China-Latin America Sustainable Investment Initiative (IISCAL, for its Spanish acronym) is a project hosted by the Bank Information Center that works for the proper implementation of Chinese environmental and social guidelines and regulations in investments and projects carried out in Latin America and the Caribbean. For this purpose, IISCAL conducts research, advocacy programs, empowerment of civil society and collaborations with NGOs in Latin America and the Caribbean, China and the rest of the world. IISCAL was established in October 2014 under the auspices of the International and Comparative Environmental Law Program at American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC.
